This is hindsight on the 2009 predictions for the United States written November 2008 before President Obama took office. Italicized type is what was written in the November 2008 article. Underlined text is what was italicized in the November 2008 article.

Predicted for the year 2007: “Beginning the end of January (2007) a long-term adjustment period regarding the nation’s money begins in January 2008. This may not be noticeable unless you are skilled at understanding the stock market, the money supply and interest rate changes. These areas begin to be tweaked now (Jan. 2007) through end of 2008.” As we went into 2008, there had already been a financial stimulus and a big deficit. This was the beginning of the stock market scandals and bank failures.

Pluto went into Capricorn 26 January 2008 through January 2024. The last time Pluto was in Capricorn was between 1762 and 1777, when the Colonies were in rebellion against English taxation and trade regulations. Proceeding this era, when Pluto was in the sign of Sagittarius, there were foreign wars and agitation against English rule. With Pluto in Capricorn this cycle we can expect change in the tax and trade laws. Since the energy is that of unrest, we can also expect citizen agitation. Some groups will demand the extreme; others will voice disapproval over unpopular or unconstitutional government behavior. Pluto tears down what is symbolized by the sign it travels through. In the case of Capricorn, it is traditional or structured forms that are outmoded and need to be replaced. Sagittarius rules “big money” and we have just witnessed the downfall of financial excesses in the financial markets. . As Pluto travels through Capricorn, corporations and structured entities fall, some will come back restructured and some will disappear. Citizen unrest and disapproval is happening, just witness the Town Hall meetings during the month of August and the citizen demonstrations in many cities, especially the one in Washington, D.C. September 12.

The most dangerous transit of 2009 commences the beginning of March 2009 through and including the first week of May, repeats end of December 2009 and goes through October 2010. There are strong forces opposing the office of the presidency, the workforce and perhaps young people. The opposition is relentless and tries to force their point of view and methods onto others. There could be forced working conditions on the young or enforced union rules. In the extreme, someone’s life is in danger. The other scenario is a complete tearing down and restructuring of the nation’s, and maybe the worlds, monetary systems. If so, there is a strongman directing the process who refuses any interference or advice.The last time this happened was in 1763 - The Proclamation of 1763, signed by King George III of England, prohibits any English settlement west of the Appalachian mountains and requires those already settled in those regions to return east in an attempt to ease tensions with Native Americans. The reference to King George III of England was made on TV September 12, part of news broadcast about the demonstration held at in Washington, D.C. that day. The Proclamation of 1763 was a precursor to the American Revolution, and we are currently experiencing strong opposition to the American government’s policies with many demonstrations from ordinary citizens. With the tariff on Chinese imported tires, the union part-ownership of the auto industries, and the upcoming vote on changing union voting rules, the unions have become stronger. The world’s monetary system is changing, with talk of a regional or international currency to replace the U.S. Dollar, which continues to fall. This cycle also reveals the health care policies the government has tried to force through Congress before recess in August, and the strong opposition to them. This is ongoing, through October 2010. If not opposition to health care, it will be opposition to monetary policy, work conditions and attention on the power of the office of the presidency.

March through beginning of May 2009 the government took over two car companies, with part ownership given to the unions and very little ownership percentage-wise, to the debtors. This is ongoing, with attention on the circumstances of the deal towards the end of December this year and again in August 2010.

With Pluto in Capricorn this cycle we can expect change in the tax and trade laws. September 11 President Obama announced a 35% tariff on Chinese imported tires. The astrological relationship was a positive one, indicating an opportunity to stabilize agreements and relationship with allies or partners. The agreement takes effect September 26. There should be a favorable news announcement September 28, which may publish a few changes in the agreement.

Expect positive changes with our allies and public image beginning about April 10, 2009, again the end of September 2009 and culminating end of January 2010. There could be three agreements or treaties because of a new approach. The press will be positive. It is also possible to have monetary changes begin in April, tweaked in September and finished end of January 2010. If so, it would be a freeing from regulation or restraints. The incoming administration, though, is promising monetary regulation, so it could be the regulations that free up foreign trade. President Obama is popular as a person overseas, but his policies in relation to our allies are being questioned. There are more restraints on the stock market, businesses and banks, not fewer. The tariff on Chinese tires could be the beginning of restrictive trade policies, not a freeing from trade restrictions. There have been press appearances by the president to present his policies. On September 28 there should be a favorable press release regarding agreements. There will be a repeat the end of January 2010.

The United States is experiencing a long adjustment period involving the press that began the middle of May through middle of June 2007. Not everything was and is being revealed in the news due to confusing situations not fully understood, or deliberate omission of facts. This repeats the middle of February 2009, third week of September 2009 and middle of December of 2009. There is fuzzy communication regarding foreign relations and trade, with more food recalls of tainted imported foods, resulting in an imbalance in trade dollars. The adjustment period with the press is simultaneous with the good news. In addition to adjustment with the press, there are long-term accommodations in finances that involve foreign trade agreements or foreigners. Not everything that is being agreed to is being published. Ideas on welfare for illegal immigrants are being brought into the open or publicized and are contributing to the populist demonstrations and may cause changes in government policy. This will end about the middle of January 2010 followed by good news.

Let us look a little forward for the United States.

October 2009 sees uneasiness and discontent among women, housing or food the on the fifth. October 28 should see improvement in finances and the money supply, although not much. There could be cautious agreement for a government policy, rebuilding finances, or repayment of loans. On October 8 there is faint confidence in the rebuilding of the financial industry. October 22 is emotionally difficult for the population.

On October 29 Saturn travels into the sign of Libra for two and a half years. This is an indication of a return to common sense in law and order. The marriage question should settle down with fairness to all. Attention may shift from punishing environmental violators, which means higher prices to everybody, to fair penalties for violations of all laws and the constitution. As Saturn travels through Libra, it will make challenging relationships from time to time to some of the planets in the United States chart, revealing areas of readjustment, tension and changes. We will talk about these in the next article.

Financial tension begins December 2 and going through August 2010. Challenges regarding money, the work force and legal agreements begin. There could be more unemployment, changes in union agreements and less money available.

December 10 is the beginning of a cycle focusing on the presidency that repeats February and August 2010. Mistakes are revealed, with responsibility and accountability for such demanded. This is a most difficult time that extends through the end of August 2010.

Continued unrest with the population is indicated through the end of December. Demonstrations continue, with voters expressing disapproval to their elected officials and demanding more common sense policies.

Jupiter has been traveling through the United States’ house of spending money, and the world is aware of excessive spending and accumulation of huge debt. The extravagance is contributing to allies resisting investing in the United States, with talk of a regional or national currency backed by something other than the U.S. Dollar. This should end the first week of January 2010 when Jupiter leaves that house.

The biggest change we are experiencing is that of being in the Age of Aquarius where the energy changes from cradle-to-the-grave welfare to being responsible for one’s self and helping others within one’s own community instead of big government taking care of all. We are witnessing the winds of change, which sometimes can be strong but variable. Yes, the current American administration is trying to make government bigger, but the voters are loudly resisting. The other big change is that of Pluto traveling through the sign of Capricorn, signaling the permanent change of corporations and what we think of as structured entities going to their downfall because of excess. When Pluto traveled through the sign of Sagittarius (Jan 1995 – June 2008) there were scandals involving religious leaders over money and sex. The same is happening now with the financial and sexual excesses.

Along with the Age of Aquarius, we are experiencing the energy changing from the Sixth Ray to the Seventh Ray, which are very different frequencies. The Seventh Ray energy can be likened to that of pulsing electricity, which hits and stops, hits and stops, with varying lengths of time in between. As the earth leaves one astrological age and goes into another, the change usually causes unrest and chaos. When this happens the old and outworn symbolized by the previous age gradually ceases to exist. If mankind willingly lets go of the excesses of the Piscean Age, the more equal and open culture of the Aquarian Age will manifest in harmony.
